Cynthia Wood

A long-time resident of Winter Park Cynthia has devoted her professional and volunteer careers to Central Florida’s non-profit sector. Her multifaceted experiences have equipped her with knowledge and skills to engage with multi-generations of leaders, staffs, volunteers, donors, and clients in advancing philanthropy and the non-profit sector.

Highlights of her experience include:

Professional

  • Nineteen-year professional at Rollins College, culminating as Vice President for Institutional Advancement

  • Owner and president of Cynthia Wood, Philanthropy Partner LLC where she serves as a strategic development and organizational consultant to non-profits and a philanthropy advisor to private individuals and families. Some of her clients have included Bach Festival Society of Winter Park; Mead Botanical Gardens, Inc.; Trinity Preparatory School; AdventHealth Winter Park; Art and History Museums of Maitland; Orlando Museum of Art; as well as individuals, couples and families.

  • Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Wilson College, Chambersburg PA

  • Interim Executive Director, Winter Park Public Library

Volunteer

As a leader in the Central Florida nonprofit sector, Cynthia has served as Chair/President of:

  • Grace Medical Home, a medical facility which provides consistent and quality healthcare to the working, uninsured poor in Orange County

  • 100 Women Strong, a giving circle, affiliated with the Central Florida Foundation, which provided support to organizations addressing women’s and girls’ issues in our community

  • Center for Women’s Philanthropy, an initiative of the Central Florida Foundation, created to educate and  engage women in philanthropy

  • Jeremiah Project, an arts outreach program for at-risk middle school students through First Congregational Church of Winter Park

  • Junior League of Greater Orlando

Other volunteer activities include:

  • Co-founder of The Children’s School, a school for developmentally delayed pre-school children

  • Vice-Chair, Winter Park Institute (Revised to a community-based model)
